Welcome to the official website of Alumni Association of Tourism Economics & Hospitality Management (Alumni ATEHM), Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.

Whilst having closely associated with the Alumni ATEHM from the day it was launched in 2015 in Kandy, I consider it as a great honor and privilege for me to be the President of the AATEHM as the Alumni provides a strong platform for me to communicate with both academics and industry professionals with different diversity areas of tourism industry such as, travel & tour operation, hotel management, tourism investment and enterprising, professional tour guiding and government decision-making under this association.

Furthermore, I am sincerely proud being the current president of AATHEHM of University of Colombo, which is the premier and world top ranked public university in Sri Lanka and also the first and one of most recognized tourism and hospitality management related Alumni Association at the national universities in Sri Lanka. I trust that I will be able to create a significant contribution to the alumni and the students of Tourism Study Programmes, conducted by the Department of Economics, University of Colombo through the support of outstanding academics, entrepreneurs and managers at different levels and also to serve the tourism and hospitality industry of our country through coordination between the eminent academics and outstanding practitioners of the industry.

The Alumni ATEHM continues to gain its identity and recognition through industry-related workshops and training programmes carried out, gradually increasing the number of membership and profoundly by giving leadership in organizing and coordinating of the International Tourism Leaders’ Summits  (ITLS)  and International Tourism Research Conferences (ITRC) for  five consecutive years from 2015 and also by perusing and  coordinating  the upcoming   sixth year ITLS & ITRC  in September 2020   parallel to the UNWTO World Tourism Day celebrations.

With hosting this website. I hope that the major objectives of Alumni ATEHM as to serve as a platform to exchange intellectual and professional ideas and to strengthen the professionalism in the field of tourism and hospitality through its members and also to support the Alumni members to achieve their professional and academic advancement would be a great success.  Wishing everyone a very bright & prosperous future!
