Prof. DAC Suranga Silva is a Professor in Tourism Economics at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. He holds Ph.D. from Virije University Amsterdam in Tourism Economics, M.Phil in Environmental Economics from Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the Netherlands, MA in Economics and BA Econ. Special from University of Colombo and Certificate Dip in Environmental Management from New England University, Australia,

Prof. Silva is the Founding Coordinator of Masters in Tourism Economics and Hotel Management, University of Colombo, the Founding Secretary-General: Tourism and Hospitality Educators and Researchers Association of Asia (THERAA), Director: Center for Economic Research and Industrial Policy Analysis (CERIPA) and Act. Director: Colombo University Community Extension Center (CUCEC), the President of Tourism Leaders' Summit and International Tourism Research Conference. He has published more than 100 research articles, books and other related publications. Prof Suranga Silva was a Former Director-General (DG/CEO), Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) of the Ministry of Economic Development, Sri Lanka.
